Why would you connect with your body?

There are always 2 ways to look at things. One comes from the aspect of your mind as thoughts and beliefs & the other one comes from the aspect of your body as sensations and feelings.


Even if your mind is very adaptable and at it’s best so useful, the thoughts you have are not always true. The beliefs that drive your actions are not always serving you. Often they are not even your own but something you unconsciously picked up along the way.


And we all are conditioned in one way or another to trust the mind over the body. To trust our thoughts over the feelings. To think what makes sense instead of feeling into our bodies.

However while the mind can easily fool you with different scenarios and outcomes, the body never lies. The body speaks the truth and sends you simple cues and messages if you are willing to listen.

So if you’re in for the truth, my advice is to turn towards your body and get curious of the sensations.

How you can start to recreate this valuable connection:

1) Get curious of your feelings and sensations in the body.

2) Tune in with yourself and your body daily.

  • How are you feeling?

  • Which parts in your body feel?

  • What do these sensations tell you?


3) Be present in the moment without distractions and create a space for the

messages and sensations to come to the surface.

4) Give your body some loving touch daily. Get to know your body and it’s different    

parts.

5) Start asking questions from your body and just allow the answers to surface.


And just like you would be building a new relationship, give it some time to form. Without forcing or controlling the outcome, just allowing the connection to happen. Just allow any answers and messages to come to the surface.


And accept each encounter as it arrives. Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s quiet, sometimes it’s challenging - appreciate all aspects of this journey. And mostly remember to pay attention to the smallest signs of this connection reforming.
